dc.description.abstract | In order to improve the collection and reporting of information related to obligations and expenditures, Department of Defense (DoD) components should use both the Standard Financial Information Structure (SFIS) element Product Service Code (PSC) and the SFIS element and Office of Management and Budget (0MB) Object Class Code (OCC) to categorize products and services the Department purchases. Associating PSCs to OCCs links budget and expenditure data, and enables DoD to minimize errors and improve electronic commerce. The crosswalk's intent is to improve alignment between execution and budget data in response to Federal Transparency initiatives and to support DoD cost management and end-to-end process initiatives. | |
