Supplement to the Interim Report of the Advisory Panel on Streamlining and Codifying Acquisition Regulations

Abstract

The Interim Report includes several recommendations that are intended to show Congress, the Department of Defense (DoD), and private-sector stakeholders the direction the panel will go, with more abitious, bold recommendations to come in the future. These recommendations call for the following: Affirm Agency Mission as the Primary Goal of Defense Acquisition; Increase Contract Time for Fuel Storage from 20 Years to 30 Years; Eliminate the Requirement for Contractors to Use Recycled Paper; Eliminate Federal Acquisition Regulation Section on Texting While Driving; and Eliminate the Requirement to Accept and Dispense Dollar Coins at Government Business Operations.
