Abstract: | The United States Navy has a number of entities that work together to ensure that aircraft in the Navy are supplied with the parts and materials required to maintain mission readiness. An analysis of the operating and support system costs characterizes cost variance across organizational-, intermediate-, and depot-level maintenance. In this report, we examine both labor and material cost for both repairable and consumable items and categorize those costs by type of maintenance action. This analysis is intended to help in the development of a cost model that could aid in both budget planning and execution. |
