Abstract: In June of 2008, Lieutenant Commander Shane Tallant, Lieutenant Commander Scott Hedrick and Lieutenant Commander Michael Martin conducted thesis research titled Analysis of Contractor Logistic Support for the P-8 Poseidon Aircraft. Their manpower analysis showed a large percentage of costs related specifically to type-duty assignments. The objective of this thesis is to use a Knowledge Value Added analysis of the manpower structure of an existing operational aviation community in order to determine the most beneficial manpower structure for the maintenance personnel in that community. The methodology used during this research is applicable to any aviation community.
