Abstract: The Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) was enacted five years ago, and the following selective assessment finds that progress has been made. The authors review the changes made to achieve the goals outlined in the legislation, and focus on several areas that remain to be addressed, in order to carry out the intent of the law.
